it will take anywhere from 2 to 6 months after you applied. plz contact International Advisor of your spouse (f1 visa holder) or college where you have gotten admission.

u must go to university and ask detail .
they say detail abotu this process.

Get an I-20 from the college and apply at least 45 days prior to the expiry of your F-2. The current processing time shows delay of I-539 application for 4 months.
You can prepare I-539 your self and submit it to appropriate USCIS Service Center with $200 fee.
