In an interview today I was asked by the inteviewer , the following questions: please arange the following in order 1 being the high priority, and 5 being the least, that you want in your candidate Technical Expertise, Leadership, Teachability, Teamwork, Initiative should be from 1 to 5 cannot be a tie, after this there was one more question followed by it which I think would save for the next time.

the next question following that was , why did you chose in that order , basically you had to defend yourself, He asked me why teachbility was 5th? and so on... I find it interesting to share with.

It all depends on the job you are applying for. If you are applying for a manager job leadership will be high priority. but you are from technical field and initially work in a group leadership wont be that important rather team player becomes important thing. Team player is also closely related to teachability because it all depends on the mutual understanding of partners and you should be able to make your parter to make aware of whats going on. But there are time when it is necessary to take a necessary initiative. mine would be 1. team work 2. technical expertise 3. Teachability 4. Initiative 5. Leadership 4.

1.Initiative 2.Teamwork 3.Teachability 4.Technical Expertise 5.leadership 1. Initiative: Without intitation nither u can be follower,leader or teammember 2.Team work - it is not absolute requirement that person is genius but a person who takes initiation and is friendly is helped by other and work well .Team work is extermely essential quality that american employer require. 3.Teachability: You can teach and you can learn 4.techinical expertise:it is required but without 3 quality above no body gives a damn about it..there are millions in the line 5.Leadership:though it is good to leader not everybody can be leader who is going to follow ???if you are not applying for manager or executive position rather techinical job ..your most essential person to make happy is your manager..no body knows what you do beside your manager... This is guru mantra: Always make your manager happy , follow ..because he/she knows and has ability to lift you career.You push manager in good direction and up..manager will pull you up ..future is bright

The thing is this in which ever order you answer ..there is no correct answer. but it depends on type of job and responsibility.You should be able to defend your stance.They are just looking :do you believe in what you say and do you know what you are saying !!they are just trying to judge your communication skill..very simple.

Yeap IMI you are right no matter how you order if you have a good explanationfor your order you are always correct and also they are trying to find out whats going on inside your head while you were ordering , was it logical or you were just playing a guessing game!
