Hehe you people make me laugh. :) sunnyboy please dont tell me that you believe every commercials on Tv or Net....:D Advertising is about making people think they need Product X to spend money for it. Its a cornerstone of capitalism. There's a legion of people out there, and you have to make them think they need the thing you're selling. If you don't, the competition will.

Maybe its just me, but I think most of you people are complaining about the nature of people themselves, not advertising per se. Advertising, while not always, tends to work. Thats why we are 'bombarded' with them. Decry it as 'brainwashing' or what-have-you, but remember there were prolly people complaining about the same thing in past.

Advertisers can say anything they want as long as it is pretty much within reason.

Seriously though... you have all the rights to complain and ask proper authorities to investigate illegal, misleading etc.. claims. As a matter of fact all commercials, adds etc are reviewed by lawyers before airing. In the cases of the products you bought bdidn't work you simply ignored to investigate the claims i.e. the fine print. This is just like those info-commercials. Open your eyes and read properly and if you think you are right then go sue them, may be you might have luck and win millions of dollars...hehe. But for heaven's sake the last person you complain is this site's owner. And why should he even care?...it's none of his business. So go sue those card owners. Good Luck....:)

I've had that problem as well with the callin cards wherre they say 40 minutes but just give about 15 but there is no way we can blame SAN for that. All he is doing is givin space for the advertisment... you could have just written to him personally stating the problem instead of bringin stuff in public try to fake humiliate da dude....

Hey guys, Cool down, Once I bought 400 minutes worth of calling card becasue my sister was getting married and I wanted to talk to all of my relatives and friend in the same week. POOR ME, I hardly got 150 minutes on those calling card. That is sad and I have learned my lesson. Never buy more than $10 worth card at once!!

Also sometime it is cheaper for the people from nepal to call here. I mean from those computer phones and stuffs!! Not the regular one though!!

We tend to put people down in order to show our phony bravery. I know he sounds stupid, and I also know there is no way we can blame San or whoever it is accountable for. I have seen other remarks against sunnyboy?s thread, but their comments are not snubbed as yours. The point is it is sometimes important to protest things in different way rather than pointing fingers at fault or humiliating poeple in front of others. Finally, Good Luck not being losers!

There's a phonecard you get in hongkong and korean grocery stores called "beautiful world" I have been using it recently and I once even got to talk for more than an hour with a $5 phone card :). Don't think its available in all the states though. Good luck!

I don't know my fellows,this phone card problem should have not be an issue, but it is telling us we (nepali & nepal)are way back in the technical areas. May be we are not putting efforts to be more creative and innovative globally. Because of our lower profile business world doesn't care much. Do we accept this fact?

our people are dying back home, our own people are killing them. we are becoming victims our own doings. Simlultaneously, Indians are doing far better in every field we can think of. Our people want to leave country just to feed their family, a decent food. Students want to stay abroad regardless of their status. Indians,now they want to go back, and are going back because of their best economic growth ever.

People like BILL GATES wants especially Indians,& Chinese our neighbours at his country and makes a big issue with its own government for not allowing them to come in the U.S. Why, those people are creative and innovative. Look at those phone cards for indians, cheapest, good rates all time, even free call for weeks once or twice a yr. What an Irony, we are here in Sajha blaming our own people for cheating ourselves. Do we have those optins as Indains do? It is the time to think what we are lacking. Why we are not getting cheap phone cards? Do we have any nepali owned phone service providers? Are there any technically sound people in Higher official level in this global economy as Indians do? Have we ever thought for our social status rather than Individual one? If we have answers, "yes", then we will get cheap phone cards. If answer is "no", and we don't resolve our problems, we will be cutting throat of our own people which the nature of this thread is the begining. Let's Bring the Luck we lack by being creative and innovative.
