I heard some of these were raided last month and have stopped training and marketing. Canvas is good, I heard Betasoft is good too.

Call them directly and ask what are their policies.

The government agencies, I heard from one of the students who is working from these consultancies. It's good to call them and talk in detail.

Why would government interfere with these privately held business units, unless they were evading taxes and or hiring illegal candidates?

I guess in Bay Area, all dhoti's will stop doing training and marketing with fake resume for a while. Try east coast, for training and marketing. Just having coding training will not land you in job, the main is faking resume and your visa sponsor through these Desi's consultancies.
