Sorry if this is not a good place but I have an interview with Ms tomorrow and I need help.

It is an SDE direct position from MS people and they told me to ask ' algorithm, data structure and general SQL and XML. I know SQL and XML stuff but I need the type of question they ask in Algorithm and data structure ..

Any help would be highly appreciated.

oh ! I dont know what will happen ..but I think interview was good from my side.

I did not beleive myself, whatever I studied from the forum, internet.. they asked the same .. like

sort the array with an efficient way, and remove the duplicate ? .. i practiced these kind of question .... lucky me

plus .. what is the prevoius exp? some general c# and xml, sql question.. They asked the same question what I found over the internet ...

 

they told me to give me a call within couple of days .. hope for the best .. it was the good interview overall ..

Did you send a thank you letter via email to the interviewers yet?  Do so ASAP (if you didn;t forget to ask them for their business card that is).

Thank you letter is a must man.

A thank you letter is a requirement after an interview, especially if you're coming in as an analyst/associate (not for senior positions though).  It will work wonders in making you stand out amongst the other candidates (they'll remember you from the hundreds they probably interviewed or will interview).  Anyway, why am I giving a University's career-service adivice?  I made it this far on my own and I'm sure you'd do too with a little more reasoning and determination.  All da best!!

Your potential employer always appreciates the thank you note from you.  Response to the thank you note keeps your hope alive. 

I will google the format of thank you letter .. but any special format anyone can think of ??

I am not so sure about this one....a good majority of people do write a thank you note. At  a time like this not writing a thank you note might make you stand out...but in bad way.

I sent the thank you letter to them .. I think it is a good idea .. at least they will open my email and see my name . who knows .. they will call me " .. ' Ok Aalu .... you are selected " wow ...  ..day dreaming

Interestingly, the company where I am currently working at .. when they took the interview ..  fck me ... I did not write a single " thank you" to them .. Ulto .. I bargained about the salary .. fck .. that's why they did not increase the salary ...

 

Good for you, Aalu.  I hope you get the job.  It would be nice to have Nepalis in good companies.  Hopefully they will help other Nepalis when they apply for jobs in their companies.
