If I am I understanding correctly then what they are asking is that they still want to be part of Nepal but just want to have separate government. They don’t want the central government determining what happens in Tarai.

I think it’s a good idea every district in Nepal should have its own government, laws, law enforcements, courts etc. and those ppl should live in the actual district b/c then only they can know wht is needed. If they live in Katmandu how can they know wht is needed in dang.

If every district had its own government it would be more effective and efficient rather than a central government trying to control everything. All the districts will still be part of Nepal and the central government will just look over the major issues. Just like in America.

That’s not really dividing up the country. Its just a better way to make things work.

Dont compare america and Nepal. Practically that would be disaster for whole country. And how come jhapa , chitwan having more pahade population would be in that Madhes. I always had faith in the new generation of Nepalis, my generation and the coming generations who I sincerely hoped could do away with the bitter past, could seek unification, and never ever resort to,  forget resort, never ever even think of resorting to violence. I thought we are becoming wiser and probably, at least us, who live abroad are intelligent enough not to talk about violence AND HATRED..but I WAS WRONG.

I already mentioned to everyone, it is fight for darkness, equality for every nepali. The question here is, why you are feeling quilty. There are more than 100 seats from Tarai which is gathered from Maoist, UML and Nepali Congress of main political parties. I don't mean we don't need regional politics but my question here is why they killed the pahadi's in Tarai. What would happen if Newars starts killing to other in Kathmandu. You know Pracanda won in Kirtipur, Pracanda was never Newar and Prakash Man Sigh Won in No. 1 constitutional area, which is basically parbate. Don't feel it is for Taraians, definately tarians not only cast vote for Tarians in this constitutional assembly. So you are one of the brave nepali of Tarai who will fight for person like Upendra, there are lot of Matrika, Patel and Udhavs, who are always nepali with Nepali heart. So you have to fight for the New Bihari's who want a single province but definately you can fight for better Tarai.

First of all I am totally against any idea of a separate state. Doesn't matter who brings this issue. Mr Yadav, you got it totally wrong.

Lets be bluntly honest. All of us living abroad are escapists, we don't do anything, people are dying in Nepal, getting beaten , and what not but we are here, pretty safe.SO THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE LEAST WE CAN DO?

WELL WHAT I EXPECT IS US TO HAVE A POSITIVE TONE. US TO BE MORE CIVIL AND US TO BRING ALL KIND OF NEPALESE ON A COMMON PLATFORM AND RISE ABOVE THE PETTY MADHISE/PAHADE/ETC ISSUES AND SHARE OUR IDEAS AND DO SOMETHINK THAT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ITS A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT DIVIDED WE FAIL.

Now that Mr Yadav has won, he can say that he has public mandate. WRONG. ABSOLUTELY WRONG. As wrong as maoists use YCL and say they have a public mandate.

But what is the solution? Think about it. Killing and reataliation killing is not a solution. We already had enough of killings in Nepal, no more blood bath please.If anyone thinks thats a solution I am helpless.LETS FIND A SOLUTION.

LETS HAVE A DEBATE.

I might be agree with you this point, I don't mean to fight with guns or anything, this thread is also fight to Mr. Upendra Udhav, one thing, you are saying we should be peaceful, yes definately we should be peaceful but our peace may lead that we might be supporing Mr. Upendra. Again another question, what we are doing for the nation. Yes, we are ran away from the country, either as a Madhise or Pahade, no one is satisfy from the system. Another thing, I am not Maoist but one thing we have to realise that Maoist is the first party which had all Taraians, tharu, janajati in their fight. I don't know, what is that fight for, but my stress is where was Upendra Udhav? He was in Maoist but he ran away and started his own theory of Single Madhes, which created a major threat for Pahadi residing in Tarai. When there was a Maoist movement like 12 years, it was totally a political movement, but now the politics was shifted to castes and Upendra Udhav is criminal for that politics. So my thought is the people who are true nepali always fight with the attitude of Upendra (Fight means not always weapon). So I am also a pulchowk product, so if you feel you are Nepali, never support the movement of Upendra, definately he is trying to use Bihari Politics. So change timely all Tarians, or one day there will be fight in one way to other.

People have lost the security of living in other neighborhood where they are the minority......SO they want to live where they all speak the same, eat and look the same. first i would strongly recommend you to ignore the hardliners' opinions and increas the threshold of tolerance. you wont find ppl of same level (i am sure you know what i meant) for the healthy discussion. What more do you expect from the citizens who are already being half plagued by divisive politics. Even from this election we have seen that there is a huge mass of ppl who supports YCL as well as similar madhesies groups which are affiliated by major political parties of terai.
No body is trying to bridge the gap between terai and madhesh, rather everybody is following the mantra once used by English (divide and rule).

I still remember, after democracy was thrown to public as if we throw stale roti to dogs, sad-bhawana party started to widen the gap between pahade and madheshies with their slogan (Terai hamara hai, pahadiyo! pahad me jao..  something like that). I was young then,  still trying to learn politics.. but old enough to know that they were abusing human sentiments for the personal and short term benefits. Now, terai is almost in the state of civil war type situation. Last time i visited there was almost two years back, and i was able to see the hatred and anger in their eyes. What surprised me more was...  i saw same hatred and angers in  few of my classmates (i was born and raised in terai) with whom i grew. I realized that few of my classmates did not mature enough to adhere the humane characters as they grew.

Whenever we talk about problems in nepal, even a blind man can easily pin point it. And, when it comes to solutions no body will give damn about it. I don't think anybody is sincerely working on to resolves those problems. Lets not pick the problems of other parts and focus mostly in terai.

In case of Terai's problem, its very obvious, no body had time to contemplate about terai's issues when those terai's revolution was in preliminary phase. Now it has grown up so immensely.. its root has invested the heart of millions now. The hatred and anger is also there.
Somebody who loves nepal and want a single nepal would never agree with one madesh one province demand. This demand is not a legitimate demand and we all know it that it would divide every ethnic group and that will push us back another 100 years.
We should have eradicated the infection long before when sad-vawana party planted that slogan of having a "separate madesh rajya".
Major political parties were blinded then..  with their own successes and most of the leader were busy in harvesting their own fruits. They never loved nepal then.. and its really hard to put the same level of trust in them. There had been several madhesies ministers in the past.. even they turned their ears deaf to problems of terai.

I am not surprised the way maoists got success in CA election. I was expecting the same level of success for terian extremist parties. and yes, they had success. Which also explains a trend that we nepali have..   we are so innocent herd of cattles driven by few cleaver wolves..

Solution = as far as i can see, there wont be magical solution to this like most of problems in nepal. And, parties who got benefits by boiling one madesh one province issues.. even they dont want it be resolved that easily otherwise their works would look petty. They would definately want to make it as big as possible. Because politics is their profession and everybody wants job security. They are not there to seek a common ground of understanding...   Anyway, i would not want to see nepal being sri lanka and madeshies being tamil fighting for a separate nation. Somebody definitely  has to step up  to stop the trend of passing on of hatred and anger to our young generation. Religions and ethnicities are very sensitive issues. When these are mixed in politics then a simple reaction will turn into the exaggerated chain reactions. The govt. should work extensively to make the terians feel that they were not left behind... they are as equal nepali as from any other corner of nepal. Accept their valid demand.. and take strong action against any political parties that uses racial or religious matter to gain political advantage or attempt to mislead the mass based on those sensitive issues. Moist problem also gave a sense to political leaders that you are allowed to kill and torture others as long as you have a mass following you. Law and order should be enforced strongly and those involve in any crimes should be punished irrespective of their political status. If we can make king an ordinary man, then why not those corrupted and criminal leaders?

In one line, we should not accept Yadhav's proposal, this will divide the nation and rest of the mountainous dweller have to live in under their mercy.

 

Let's see what Maoest is going to do? It will give us hints how they going to lead the nation.
