If Nepal beats any of the two major teams in its group (Australia and Srilanka) then it would be some achievement!! But that is sth very tough to achieve realistically!! Though they scored some runs against Bermuda, I still have some doubts on the batting front!! Fielding is the only part where I dont have a concern, abt the bowlers I dont have that great a knowledge to comment this time around!!
Lets pray that Nepal is giving a shot at the real part of the tournament ie the Super league n not the Plate championships only!! I remember Roy Dias saying in the last tournament that its better getting into the plate and play some games n try winning that than to lose one match in the super league and get back home!! But since our team has played very well and has to some extent exceeded expectations in U-19 arena, we must believe in ourself and try for the Superleague rather than b content with just the Plate championship!! Or m I too idealistic in thinking that???
N one more thing, Our coach Roy Dias has done wonders 4 our team!! But hasnt he been there too long, I was just hoping that injecting a new blood would bring some refreshment in the team and bring more out of the players but seems like Roy Dias is extendin his contract!! With all due respect to what Mr. Dias has done, I hope he steps away and someone other takes that challenge!!
Anyway, Best of luck to the team in the U-19 WC in malaysia and against Zimbabwe tomorrow!
