Desparately need to find a title and the artist of a song. This songs starts with Dhaka Topi dhuyera.... and the verse ends with ohhhh.. jau jau rail lai ma...... This must be from late 70's or early 80's sung by a woman. Please let me know if anyone knows this song. Thank you.

Meera, Yes, you're right, this is exactly the song I'm looking for. It sure would be nice to find out the singer's name so I could find the original song for a dance item for a cultural programme in. Thanks for giving me more detail though....Appreciate it!

organizer, good luck trying to find a good recording of the song in the USA. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Even Radio Nepal or Music Nepal don't have the recording of the song (unless Music Nepal has a recently rerecorded version). I think Rashtriya Nachghar may have a recording. If you have any connections at Rashtriya Nachghar, Jamal, Kathmandu, try your luck there. Nepal TV also has a video recording which can be transferred on to an audio tape but I have heard they charge a whopping 50 rupees a minute for such transfers. (Not much for those in the USA though, the whole thing is less than 5 dollars). If you have friends in high places (or anyone in the video archive) at NTV, you may be able to get a copy of that song. I believe that is the most sought after but not found song among many Nepali music aficionados. Good luck!!

Isn't it: Dhaka topi (tui tui) dhoyera nichara Paina maile mayako bichara lahoooo jau jau relaima ho la hai jau jau relaima. I think the female vocal is Mira Rana. Don't quote me.

Dautari, Thank you for this valuable piece of information. I did contact Music Nepal but they didn't get back to me. I'm sure they thought why reply back when it doesn't benefit them so why go through all the trouble searching for the song. That's the type of BUSINESS attitude people have in that part of the world. Unfortunately, I don't have time to contact Nepal TV because we are having a cultural event here in Los Angeles this coming Saturday and I doubt they will respond to my message. Anyways, thanks for the input. I will definitely try to get it for next event.

Thanks Kiddo..... I also think it's Mira Rana but there aren't many songs of Mira Rana in nepalisongs.com and I could not find them anywhere else either. I'll keep trying. Thanks again for your information.
