Hi All, I have to transfer money from Bank of America to an account of Nabil Bank in Sitapaila, Kathmandu. When I tried to do the online transfer i saw that the Nabil bank listed is Kamaladi's. Is it possible to transfer money even though the account is located in Sitapaila nabil bank?
If anyone has done online money transfer outside kathmandu, please let me know the process?

Yeah, you can transfer your money to Nabil Bank. It doesn't matter which branch of Nabil is your account opened in, you can get your money from any branch of Nabil Bank including Sitapaila.

Transferring within banks is unlimited and a fixed charge. But you should visit the location and do it.

Yup I agree to the above post.. Just go to the branch and do the transfer.. I dont recommend doing it online unless is within states. Make sure u get accurate info regarding the Nabil Bank in Nepal..

Jhapaliketo do it from thamel.com or mucha, If you are transferring beyond 2000, the charge is free whereas BOA takes 45 dollars transaction fee per transfer. The rate I guess remains same.

if you are transfer more than 5000 bank of america is the best one. if you are going to transfer small amount than moneygram or western union, whatever u like. personally I don't go with muncha or thamel.com coz have to provide SS number. However, In the case of reliable all are good.

Well compare the rates, sometimes Wal-Mart has the best option, but someone needs to be at the receiving end, and does not go into a bank directly. Muncha has average rates, but it goes through Hyderabad and your account number gets passed around.... I did not want my acc numbers to float...
Also, if thee are any indian transfer agencies that don’t require a back account around you, see what rates they offer. I have found them to have better rates of all. Something like prabhu money transfer.

Hi,
Pleale let me know if you are still looking for sending money to Nepal. If you or your family members are located in nearby area (San Fransisco or Toronto canada), then we can do exchnage.
This is a good option if you are planning to send huge amount and save money on transfer free.
Thanks,
Ars.

Hey guys, up to how much do they let you wire money from BOA to Nabil/Standard Chartered bank? And what about the exchange rate? How long does it take to receive money? When you use WU/MoneyGram, they do not wire money on exact exchange rate. It goes down by 1-2 $. Can I also do it online without even going to the bank? Thanks, R

Texans1, you're better off using Chase as their rate is cheaper. It takes about 3-4 working days for recipients to receive transferred amount. Exchange rate is determined on Rastra Bank's exchange rate on the day the transfer is completed and it's normally higher than Moneygram/Western Union as both agencies take bigger cuts (at least 1 rupees/dollar). Also, wire transfer comes in way cheaper if you're sending anything over 4-5k.
