Here comes another one preaching nationalism. That Mahendra's creation of Panchayati system was the one that lagged us behind all those countries of South East Asia and took us nowhere. There are a lot of idiots in Nepal who still believe in old world order of you-kiss-my-a$$-and-someone-will-kiss-yours and that's how they still want to run a system. That way, they want to create a hierrarchy and be safe forever. Just like caste system, monarchy, dictatorship etc. And here are some, getting world class education and morons still believe that a country can be run like a business entity and a country is someone's private property?

The way I think...there is nothing like "Former King"...either you are King or you are not. And "King" are not made, they are born. You are destined to be King. It is up to you to belive if some one is King or not. It is completely faith based thing because a King is not voted to be a King. It is his people who make someone King. For me King Gyanendra was King and is King.
It is just my view. You are every right to disagree.

so u mean they are destined to luxurious life with billions of poor people's money is overseas bank, to kill people (like parase did. remember that musician who was killed right in front of durbrmarg), to have concubines (everybody knows that. for example sharada of tribhuvan), or even snatch the democracy of nepali (as mahendra and gyenedre did). u must either be ignoramus to think so or maybe you are one of his bootlickers......... pc

This is the irony my friend...you remember Praveen Gurung who was killed in a road-accident 8 years ago but you do not remember 12000 dead people after that....if feeling sorry for 12000 instead of one make me a bootliker...i am sorry to say I am a bootlicker. I will be happy to lick even murderer Prachanda's boot if he can bring those 12000 lives back.

bro i dont mean maoist were right. but still they were fighting for their cause. it was a battlefield not durbarmarg. also most of the warriers were from rural part and mostly uneducated. but wht abt paras. he went to Budhanilkantha and had every opportunity to study in best colleges. but look what he went for. Not only that he was also in a reponsible positions (a prince whoa) and look what he was doing during sankatkaal. i dont mean good kings are bad but paras as prince and gynandra as a king would have ruined our country. maybe i have a different opinion on birendra and deependra. but for gyanadra and paras it is an absolute NO. It was right that they got ousted out other wise they would have turned Nepal into Zimbabwe.

i know that syn. Doh !! Look at the topic headline, it is referring to Gyanendra. Remember, one of the reason paras got really pissed off was because he was in argument with Gyanendra on giving up the crown so easily. I totally respect Gyanendra for that. I know he was not able to do what he wanted to do, but atleast he tried. Like someone else said before, we citizens of nepal are to blame, it is US who led Nepal to what it is now. King did what WE thought was best for the country ie to give Prachanda a chance. I respect Gyanendra for respecting us citizens. Too bad we never had the same respect for the king, nor a trust.

Are you telling me just because those 12000 were from rural part and uneducation their lives doesn't count?? Thanks for your arguement. I am not debating with a person with such a cheap mentality. I give up. You win.

Deshbhaktanepali you are so correct......What an Irony.......everyone has their point of view. Readind bathroomslurpy's comment ...He KNOWS I'M RIGHT but he is one of those people who will not refuse to back down or accept the reality no matter what just TO WIN A CONVERSATION. ..HE HAS TO WIN NO MATTER ITS MARALLY RIGHT OR WRONG...............SADLY PEOPLE STILL BLAME THE MONARCHY FOR NEPALS STATE TODAY...and FOLLOW THE POLITICIANS.......you guys are all right...KING IS BAD......political leaders and Maoists are Good.....THE KING DESTROYED THE COUNTRY....and THE POLITICIANS AND MAOISTS ARE GOING TO FIX IT.................
sydacid bro........I dont know about you bro but as a teen and a young adult..........I was a rebel in my own family doing drugs and gangfights, getting in trouble with the Dhides(cops).....drinking and just a BIG DHARTI KO BOJH.............and I know many of my friends who grew up the same way and I am certain 90% of all young people in Nepal go through that phase.............I am well educated, good family background ...SO WHAT??? I BROKE EVERYLAW THERE IS TO BREAK and got in trouble with law and got punished manytimes too. WHAT IM reffering is that PARAS was a young prince then ...Not a crown prince.......wanting to rebel out and have a good time like a normal citizen.......He wasnt allowed by the strict palace rules so he broke them all and rebeled out AS A YOUNG MAN............................NOW I have changed ..many of my friends have changed and so has millions of nepalese teens who go through that phase in life....................I have done and hurt many feelings those days because I didnt care......BUT now I have changed and thank god people dont judge me for my past......but look and respect of who I am today as a grown up man..................Im sure you agree Bro..............BUT NOW LOOK AT THE YCL AND PARTY YOUNG CADRES..........do you justify that???..that was one Paras.long time ago .now its like thousands of YCL doing things above the LAW.

They are dude....they were looting before now they are Killing....but I guess you don't care about him as he is from Baitadi...from a village.

BAITADI, July 8 - Young Communist League (YCL) cadres allegedly shot dead 22-year-old Dev
Bahadur Bista of Gora village Bijaypur-7 in the district Sunday night.
Seriously injured due to bullet injuries, Bista breathed his last on the way to the District Hospital for treatment early Monday morning.
Relatives of the deceased said local YCL cadres-- Karna Dhami and Ramesh Mahara-- shot him over a land related dispute among locals. Police said the accused are still at large.
Locals tried to take an injured Bista to hospital on Sunday night itself. However, as they were approaching the hospital after a whole night's trek, he succumbed to his injuries near Khucheuda Mode.
According to senior health assistant Gagansingh Mauni, a bullet pierced Bista's left abdomen and came out from the right. However, a postmortem could not be performed due to the absence of the doctor.
YCL cadres had shot Bista while they were taking him for "interrogation" over a land
dispute between the Bistas of Gora area and locals
of Rauleshwor belonging to the Madais caste.
"First, they (YCL) beat him up," said one of those who carried Bista. "And when we asked them not to beat him and to settle the dispute through
discussion, they took Bista away saying they had some 'secrets', and we heard shots afterwards."
Locals said YCL cadres took Bista to the maize field of one Dhan Bahadur Bista of ward-7 and shot him there.
However, the Maoists here maintain that the two accused are not their cadres.
Meanwhile, issuing a press statement in Kathmandu, CPN-UML, denounced the murder of its cadre Bista. "The violent atrocities of Maoists, which are poised to form the government now, are yet to end and this will surely bring a crisis in the politics of consensus," the statement read.
The party also demanded strong action against YCL cadres involved in the murder and compensation for the bereaved
family.

I just got a hunch that you...syd acid are a YCL supporter.........IF YOU THINK THAY CAN BE TAMED........have you ever read about the khymer rouge in Cambodia....................They turned all the uneducated poor illetrate cambodians from the villages against the RESTof cambodia who were educated, rich and made a living working hard. THEY were told that the rest of cambodia is the reason for their poverty and they were not humans so KILL EM ALL and hence were the KILLING FIELDS in Cambodia.........No n=one could stop that carnage........ SAME HERE.....YCL can easily be the next khymer rouge.......The maoists have completely made them hate the rest of us...................they come from poor uneducated families who hate s us with anykind of life.........YOU DIG THAT DADDY????

GOOD.. syd acid............anyone who says YCL are good and can be tamed need to study the Cambodian histroy.......you will see how similar these mad maoists have brain washed these people. One of my good friends is a survivor from the khymer rouge....he is around 40 yrs old.......and he escaped the killings field at the age of 11 and was adopted here in THE USA from the refugee camp.........his Family....Out of 11 siblings....only 4 remain. ALL tortured and killed .....His Mom died right beside hin due to starvation, His brothers and sisters were tortured, raped and killed, his father was killed.....ONLY FOUR REMAIN......and most of them happened in front of his eyes he tells me that the people who killed his families were brained washed to kill every rich, educated, and people with any kind of proffession. he is lucky and even shared his story in 60 minutes and time magazine..and is writing a book. HIS STORIES MAKE ME FEAR THE YCL and what they can do and also the maoist master mind....if they dont get what they want. ...I DONT WNAT THIS TO HAPPEN IN NEPAL............PLEASE NEVER.....no one should go through what my friend had to go through.........
