Hey guys, My opt has been expired on july 10. I know I will be legal to stay in usa till sept 10. I applied fro I20 from Kaplan for the month of September and paid the tution fee too. Today I got a mail that SEVIS did not extend my F1 status because I already have been approved for h1b and my status change is also been approved. What will be the best solution to maintain status for (sept 10 to sept 30) …need suggestion?

you should have applied for I-20 before h1b got approved now in that case the option you r left with is to leave US get a visa and re- enter. youve got less chances of getting Canadian visa due to your current status.else seek help from the company they should be able to guide you. good luck.

If you have been already approved H1b and status has also been approved, then it would be better to go back to Nepal apply for H1B and come again. I dont see people having hard time getting visa who has H1B.

Going to Canada for those 20 days might be an option. Check with a lawyer if possible.
