With so many players receiving cards in this world cup already, I have few questions I would like to ask.

1) If a player receives a yellow card in the 1st game, and does not get any card in the 2nd game, will that yellow card from 1st game follow him to the 3rd game? Or will he start clean?

2) And if a player gets a red card, for how many games is he suspended?

1) yes he will start clean, like Khum Bahadur Khadka.

2) He is suspended for the next one game only. Like SPA.

How about the offside, i dont know how exactly it works.

Do they only look at who the ball is going to or is it when any player stays ahead of the last defenders. Cos sometimes they do not call it offside when the player who is not getting a pass offside but sometimes they do?

Offside is just like Baburam Bhattarai trying to go ahead of Prachanda.. but he was punished and called back. Note: same shirt for both Prachanda and Baburam... meaning same team!!

Gyane also got off-side punishment, remember that?

Offside: if my team mate is in "active" play, such as blocking the view of the goalkeeper, or blocking the goal keeper, or blocking the opponents, then it is called offside even though he is not touching the ball.

Not offside: if my team mate is not in "active" play, then even though he is "offside," it is not offside. However, if the ball I shoot hits the post and comes back, then X cannot touch the ball or else it is called offside.

The explanation made by guest is not clear for me. I wonder how sidster was able to understand. Here is what wikipideia says:

It is dead simple.

Green Card means you are allowed to live and work legally indefinately.

Yellow Card means your legal status is under dispute and going through legal proceedings.

Red Card means you are(or being) deported from the US.

Green light - you can proceed
Yellow: You can or cannot
Red: STOP.

Ans:
----Yes, the yellow card that the player received in the first game will effect him in the 3rd game. If he gets another yellow in the 3rd game(group game) then he will have to miss the next game.In this World Cup, he will have to miss the first match in the 2nd round.
But if he gets a yellow in the 3rd game, it will not be carried to the next round. He will start clean, like Khum Bahadur Khadka, in the next round.
BUT if he gets a Red in the 3rd match then he will not be allowed to play in the first match in the 2nd round.

Question:

Ans:
----He will be out of the current match and the next following match.

I think they determine offsides as and when the ball is being passed to a player and whether the player is in line with the defense or not? For instance, two strikers makes a run through the backline of the defense. The ball is passed to one striker A on the left side exactly when he is in line with the defense. According to the rule, this is legitimate. Because he has not crossed the defense line or any last defense player before the ball was passed to him, he is ok. But the other striker B made the similar run. Before the ball was passed to player A, player B had already crossed the last defense. Now at this circumstances, player A is onside, but player B is offside. The lines men will allow this. Why? Because player B has not yet involved himself in active play. So player A, if he scores, the goal will count. But player A say passes the ball back to player B, assuming he is still in front of the defesive back, he will be offside. Slightly complicated, but undestandable it seems.

So the main thing here is when the ball has been passed. That "when" usually determines when the player is offside or onside.
