should the monarch give his throne up and hand over the country to the people peacefully or should he wait until he gets kicked out of the throne forcefully?

I have a better one. Lets hope that Crown prince Paras lives up to the expectations of a nation that really needs a leader. Again, its the crown and the country I honor everyday, not the people.

If the political leaders fail, and if they see no scope of living in nepal- they can easily pack and leave nepal and settle elsewhere, and i don't think there is a single politician who will not leave nepal in times of crisis- there simply is lack of true love for the country among leaders of now, i feel that they trust Indian public more than our nepali public..But why our learders fail to realise that India will always have the intension of screwing things up in nepal..its their foreign policy to create and maintain unrest in their neighbouring countries so that they can always take advantage of.. On the other spectrum, our crown- the king - i think he does have love for the country and i feel its certainly more than anyother nepali feels, because Nepal is like his home..its something his forefather had earned for them..like we love the land our parents have left for us..so the king can't simply leave nepal..he is like the captain of the ship..who has to stay there until the ship sinks.. I am not a blind supporter of the king..but i think its wise to give him a chance..and despite the opponents ctiticism i don't think he is doing bad..he seems determined to make Nepal something and not just India ko katputali..

ravikhadka-- so wht abt democrary that our grandparents and parents fought for and died for? dont u think we deserve to enjoy those rights. wht a joke u think the king would stay in the country if he had a crisis. why does everyone always think that india will take over nepal or india will do this do that they already have so many problems of their own why would they create more problems for themselves. i actually think we should be thankful to india b/c if u really think abt it they helped nepal so much.

hey didn't you say, "so did I back then". "bire chor desh chod?" back in 1990???? and by 2001 when the massacre happened we were ready to go out and shave our heads and protest for the same king. so basically what we are saying is that let the leaders suck the shit out of the country and when something like June 2001 happens, "hey we did love our monarch, we did ask him to leave the country, but we were just kidding". Peace.

GUNDAA ji, good thoughts. khadka ji you are probably right! YES KING GYANE LOVES NEPAL VER VERY MUCH BECAUSE NEPAL IS A HEN THAT LAYS GOLDEN EGGS FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY. BUT THE PROBLEM IS HE DOESN'T LOVE NEPALI PEOPLE. IF HE DID THEN HE WOULD NOT ESCALATE THE CONFLICTWITH MAOIST INSTEAD OF PEACEFUL DIALOGUE. REMEMBER BOTH THE SO CALLED MAOIST AND THE ARMY ARE NEPALIS OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS SO WHOEVER DIES IS AN ANOTHER NEPALI DEAD.

GORKHA DOGG JI, SHAVING THE HEAD WAS A SIGN FOR PROTEST AGAINST THE INTERNAL CONSPIRACY OF THE ROYAL FAMILY. NOT LOVE FOR THE GYANE. IF MONARCHY WAS SO GREAT THAN WHY DIDN'T IT IMPROVE NEPAL DURING THE "PANCHAYAT ERA". I SUPPOSE THERE WERE "NO ELECTED CORRUPT LEADERS." THE GOVERNMENT WAS ALL RULED BY THE MONARCHY. CAN YOU GIVE ME A SATISFACTORY ANSWER. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH YOU KNOW ABOUT ECONOMY BUT THE FACT IS NEPAL WAS IMPROVING IT'S ECONOMY DURING THE SHORT DEMOCRATIC PERIOD. THE REASON BEING FOREIGN INVESTORS FEEL CONFIDENT IN PUTTING THEIR MONEY IN A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRIES RATHER THAN DICTATOR GOVERNED STATE. AND PLEASE DON'T TELL ME THAT NEPAL DOESN'T NEED ANY FOREIGN INVESTORS. I AM NOT TRYING TO UNDERMINE ANYONE BUT IT REALLY BOTHERS ME WHEN PEOPLE SAY THINGS ONLY OUT OF EMOTIONS RATHER THAN FACTS AND LOGIC THANK YOU AND PLEASE DON'T CURSE. IT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY VIEWPOINT MAKE ARGUMENTS AND GIVE ME SOME EXAMPLES USE SOME LOGIC AND MAY BE I'LL AGREE WITH YOU IF YOU CONVINCE ME WITH YOUR FACTS AND ARGUMENTS IF NOT THAN IT WOULD BE MERE EMOTIONAL FRUSTRATION OF YOURS WHICH WILL MAKE NO SENSE TO ME

There was a strong backing of India to bring democracy in 1990..infact our leaders had requested for their support..and now also instead of convincing the peopel of Nepal, instead of going to villages of nepal, our leaders are visiting india, lobbying there..I feel like they are begging for democracy with indial, and like in 1990 if india gives we'll get democracy, and if not we'll not..and the things that are not achieved by oneself and are begged cannot last for long like the one we got in 1990 didn't last long.. I don't remember the date, but once when Nepal got some arms from China..india sealed the border with Nepal.. India let the bhutanese refugees to enter nepal through their land, but now they are not allowing them to enter bhutan through their land.. THere are many such instances where india's vision toward nepal has been made clear.. And though nepal was not making rapid progress in economy during panchayat era, but the economy was rising steadly,AT LEAST THERE WAS PEACE IN THE COUNTRY.. but with introduction of democracy nepal was able to attract foregn investment more than before..economy seemed to be rising, though virtual..but at the cost of what? .. Emergence of maosits, and the consequences thereafter..i blame the poltiical parties for that..

khadkaji, you are cooking tp your own story. you don't have the facts to back it up. maoist did not rise because of political leaders. it rose because of the injustice that had been going on for centuries. now it has exploded. if you think we are beging to india for democracy THEN WHY DID KING TRIBHUWAN WENT TO INDIA TO BEG FOR HIS THRONE.?????? if leaders ask for help to india to bring democracy it is a crime and if king tribhuwan does it then it is a democracy??? it' full of crap. please straighten your facts!!!!! bhutanese refugee problem is entirely a whole different issue. of course india will try to profit from nepal. wouldn't nepal if it could. what has that to do with our current situation??? economy seem rising but virtual please give me a break

USERFROMDC , Gaff dira ?? just because you think it is guff you can't change the facts. maybe you should check what this thread is about before commenting anything if you do not whant to consider history as a relevant factor. then i don't have anything to say to you. And for your information i can't be everywhere (i'm not GOD) especially with tribhuwan since he was long dead. but that doesnot change the fact that he got help from india to get his powers back

Prem Dai, bhanera matra hunna thaha cha. yaha manche haru lai chetana jagaunu paryo ni haina? i 'm shocked that lot of people support gyane because they think political leaders are corrupt. and they are right but how does that justify being ruled by a dictator instead. chalak (driver) ramro bhayena bhandaima gadi nai naramro bhanna ta milena ni. if one leader is corrupt then elect somebody better and thats the beauty of democracy. and it is not possible that every leader will be corrupt and they won't do anything for the country. however every monarchy had been a corrupt figure they have done NOTHING for the country and why would they they don't need elections or people's mandate to be on their throne just like somebody was telling me uniharuko bau baje le diyeko desh uniharukai sampati ta ho nepali janata bhaneko bheda ho hamiharu rajako slave ho adi etyadi prem dai tapai jasto manche le nai chetana jagauna sakcha. haina bhane khoi sabai jana neta chor huncha bhandai gyane daka lai support garchan. ke bhanne

money minded bro, what is the fundamental goal of the Maoist? to throw out the MONARCHY. not girija or any other political leaders. so Maoist is not a result of democracy or the political leaders. kati choti bhanne i support democracy so that we can exercise our rights. supporting democracy doesnot equal to supporting crooupt leaders. timilai kasle girija ko pachi laga bhaneko cha ra. ma ta lagya chaina. ma ta kewal democracy ko favor ma ho. maobadi more stronger now then ever. they did not became stronger all at once during girija was ruling. it happened gradually. deploying army was the worst thing that was done to make maoist stronger. why? royal nepal army is powerful they have lots of weapons. if you were maoist what do you think you would do if you have to fight against a stronger opponent? you would have to become stronger yourself too. and also now maoist can get hold of better weapons which they can take away from army who died in the conflict. gyane needs to step down. he cannot solve maoist problem by force. it can be only solved by peaceful dialogue. i can give several examples: sri lanka, they haven't been able to solve tamil tigers problem using force. iraq, usa can't solve the iraqi problem (they think they can) by force. burma, the stupid military government can't solve the karen separitist nor can they solve shan separatist in burma using force. india , can't solve kashmir using force. on and on the list goes bro. if there is a legitamate government and it is willing to negotiate the maoist will be compelled for dialogue. it is much less intense of a problem than the ones that i gave an example of because their agenda is politically based not ethnically, racially, religious based tamil tigers, karen and shan and kashmiri. so it can be solved. the first step that needs to be done is to oust gyane, make a interim government and army should be fully governed by the government. ceasefire should be announced and maoist and the government should come to table for talks. the government should be decentralized meaning rolpa, rukum, biratnagar pokhara....... should be ruled by whoever they ELECT not by the central government in kathmandu. other wise the netas will only go to their district in eleection time. gyane needs to go. about girija : why did he win election ? he did not became pm on his own. he must have done good job in his district that is why he was elected, however he is worthless as far as a leader from my point of view.
