What are the pros and cons for getting NRN card?
I need a work authorization to work for us companies remotely from Nepal?

They are saying NRN citizenship will be issued within one month after nimayabali are finalized. Hope they will make easier for us to get at local embassies.

I'm in Nepal. I met the CDO in his office last week. He said the dual citizenship is approved but they are working on the Niyamaawali to issue the dual citizenship.

tutepani will it be legally pronounced dual citizenship ? or NRN citizenship i think there's a difference on dual citizenship and NRN citizenship, may be you meant to say NRN citizenship.

Ajt , my understanding is it was called dual crzl in the in the initial days but it received a major push back with statements like deutai haat ma laddu by some people. Then it was changed to continuation of Nepali ctzp but things didnt work out with that term either so recently its called nrn ctzp. However, the concept is of the dual ctzp. Unfortunately it had to go thorugh some name changes to survive.

Tutepani- did you mean NRN card holder? They are not calling it dual citizenship in Ain and constitution.
Did the CDO share any other info? Like where they are going to issue and if it is possible to apply in embassies outside Nepal?

I'm the NRN card holder which is not the dual citizenship. The CDO offices will start issuing the dual citizenship once they / government have completed the Niyamaawali. Don't know about applying the dual citizenship from the embassy yet.

How about the kids holding foreign passport? Do they have to apply separately to get the nrn citizenship? I assume so.

I guess that dual citizenship is still illegal when it comes to SAARC countries. NRN citizenship gives you opportunity to live, do job/business in Nepal. I am not sure about social benefits.

About kids, they may also get NRN citizenship.

Just wanted to share this link of ER Safi. If u dont know him already, he is leading the group for citizenship less and since NRN act is under the same bill i find our fates are connected in this matter. I feel that he has a big role on getting this bill passed. He has updates that home ministry bureaucrats were working on nrn niyamabli recently and the draft has been completed. So the final version should come out soon, i guess.

are they even putting pressure to Nepal govt ?

I saw a pic where nrns were meeting the prime Minister but other than that i was not able to find any updates. Anyways looks like the nimayawali has been completed according to the link i posted above. Let's see what in it for us.
