In the past, I have seen people posting on sajha on how much they make. What say you guys, hamro daju bhai taha didi baini haru ko GPA kati ho ?

To start with, I am currently doing Masters with a 3.98 CGPA. Even with more than average GPA , to be really honest I am a very average student. So guys, what are your GPA's and does it reflect your  intellect?

I never really cared for my gpa in my both undergrad and grad school. I just wanted my gpa not to be less than 3.00 and I ended up with 3.00 +.
In fact, once my Professor asked me to attempt 2nd exam so that I could get "A" since I had B+. I skipped that 2nd exam.
Education does not necessarily has to reflect on your grades. It will broaden your horizon and teach you whole lots of things directly/indirectly. For ex - tackling the situation, inter-personal, intra-personal skills, communication skills etc.

exactly as alece said - its the effort that you put......but that shows how hardworking you are and hardwork pays off for sure one day or the other.

GPA is important. But it depend where did you get the GPA from. Good schools have higher standards. There is no way someone can get good gpa if they went to an excellent school without effort and ability.

I dont want to mention my GPA here..

@Champ: In one of your previous posts, you had mentioned that your GPA was 3.8. Now you have upgraded yourself to a 4.0.  Bravo!! I hope you will graduate with a 5.0/4.0 GPA in your masters program. Just in case you have forgotten already, please refer to the link below where you had mentioned that your GPA was 3.8. What's the point in lying?

GPA is important, but the passion on what you want to do is more important.  I graduated with 3.65 GPA.  Now I earn 160K, and I am not a doctor.

I am senior chemical engineer.  I suggest all Nepalese students to be in technical and healthcare fields if they are not passionately following their dream careers.

Bhustigre is you are right but ................. did MVC asked how much you are making?

Neither Steve Jobs nor niether Mr. Gates had good grades but they had passion.

@vustigre:  What do you imply when you mentioned -  "I suggest all Nepalese students to be in technical and healthcare fields if they are not passionately following their dream careers."  ?

I hope you are not  undermining/underestimating the technical and healthcare folks here.

@no_more_crush Actually, I was promoting technical and healthcare fields.  Sorry if you understood differently.  To expand what I said there: if you are really after some degree such as history, political science etc. etc and that you are passionate about that degree and the career, then you should follow your heart.  If not and if you are just trying to get a degree to get a good job and good living, which I think is for 99% people, you should be in technical and healthcare fields in my opinion.  You know it is hard to find a job in other fields, especially for foreiners.  That's all!

@magorkhei, i was just trying to make a point.  I was trying to say that the technical fields make a good living.
