I have a design in mind that I am thinking of getting US Patent for. Any idea on how to file for it? Any suggestions will be appreciated

applying for patent is pretty straight forward. you go to the us patent website and file the application but it costs a lot of money. plus they will review your application and your invention and after everything is done you get the patent. hope it helps

Thank you Jyapucha for the helpful suggestion. My design is just in the developmental stage. In order to get the patent(or even to apply for it), do i have to have the finished product or only presenting the concept work?

PunteDamai, I am not trying to discourage you but I kind of felt like you are bragging about your potential invention by exposing yourself as a Nepali Inventor in US. You mentioned on this bulletin board that your progress is at the developmental stage. If I were you I would have implemented and validated design or product innovation after my fledgling ideas have been fully developed before inquiring about Patent for claiming invention. First thing is first and make it sure your news ideas is an innovation and can be claimed for patent as an invention.

Keep posted your progress and time line of development, implementation and validation or verification of your work. You can approach a Nepalese Patent Attorney for help who got his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern and JD from George Washington University. I am not affiliated or related with him, but I love reading his article on Nepal News Guest Column that's how I learned about him. You can find his name on Nepal News guest column. I consider him with due respect an US-based Nepalese Think Tank .

I offer many kudos for your good work on conceiving innovative ideas by using your creative and imaginative mind and urge you to put your heart and soul to transform the potential groundbreaking design or product innovation you working on into reality.
