There is no doubt that they are terrorists. Those who kill ordinary people to achieve their goal, who use extortion, execution and fear to get to their destination are terrorists. Maoists are the politicians-turned-terrorists.

so is RNA. they have killed more people than the maoist. about 70% of total peoples war deaths are caused by RNA

The question is not whether RNA is terrorists. They may very well be. But there is no denying that Maoists are. RNA being a terrorists does not make Maoists lesser of the terrorists.

Definitely they are 100% Terrorists.
There is no doubt at all.
IF they get in power, they will kill each and every SPA leaders first and blast their houses, cars, motorbike, etc.
They will even rape women and kids.
They will force most of them to go and join their army, if they deny, they will be shoot on the spot.

yes, yes and yes. the methods they have used in past and continue to use today makes them terrorists. i don't care about their deals with the seven party alliance, even with all the political backing they are terrorists and have to be treated as such..

though i completely agree that their methods are unacceptable But i do not think they are terrorist. they are revolutionaries. as they can be termed as rebels Not terrorist


this is why they are not terrorist:

1. they have not planted a bomb at asan chowk and detonate killing hundreds in one blow.

2. take hostage all the students at tri chandra and demand bla bla

3. Maoist have most of the time alerted people before blasting in government offices.

4. they have mainly attacked army or police.

5. Last but not least terrorist do not have agendas or have unrealistic agendas. Maoist have political agendas and as well as social agendas. It makes me laugh when i hear most of the maoist fighters are forced to join the movement. people in kathmandu were so living in oblivion until gyanendra took power. thank you gyane chor for being a daka

Definately- Maobadis are are terrorists no doubt..

If they were only carrying political message they would not do these acts
-mutilitate and kill a 90 year old man.
-Bomb bus full of civilians
-Extort money from every business and house holds
-Destryo infrastructure including bridges.
-Forcefully recruit people ( there have been many sucide cases where people were "forced" to join their camp, they could not refuse rather killed themselves, many are self exiled in India.)
There had comitted numerous hineous acts/crimes. These acts were performed to spread fear. Did you read about a guy who did not agree with them and they skinned him alive, broke every bone in his body and finally chopped his head after many hours of torture in front of his family and the family members were forced to watch the execution?
It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about their crimes. I cannot go on ..

Shivaji prabhu I agree with all you said except that they terrorist. if definition of terrorist has changed then i have nothing to say. They will be brought to justice one day I hope.

Here is the definition of terrorist

adj : characteristic of someone who employs terrorism (especially as a political weapon); "terrorist activity"; "terrorist state" n : a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities.

If you use this definition which is from dictionary.com maobadi are doing all of the above. The only minor difference is some of the terrorist groups use their belief infavour of their religion (thats what they believe) and maobadis use their belief against religion. The point is they both use their "belief" for terror activities.

Maoists are political terrorists. They are terrorizing whole country since last 12 years in the name of so called 'people's war' which could never gain any public support. Their movement is not different than Gyanendra's municipal election. Now they are trying 'to fish in turbid water' and trying to take advantage of mass coming out in the street in support of democracy. They are not democratic force anyway. Just because of them, Nepal can never enter into full democracy as wanted by people. They grew up taking advantage of freedom established by 2046 people's democratic movement and became major cause of its untimely death. They should never be forgiven. Their work is much more condemning than even king. I will not be surprised even if i come to know that their remote control is in the hand of Gyanendra.

all of u who are supporting the maoists, plz look at the history first. hitler was also called a revolutionary but he killed millions of jews. pol pot was also a revolutionary still his had has blood of his own countrymen.. so for you all of these war criminals and human rights abusers are heroes..? revolutionaries..?

They r terroist. no doubt about it. Bir Bhadra ji. two years back there was seminar in Malyasia. where world's best socilologist gather just to give a defination of Word's terroist , but they failed in that, I agree it depends upon person to [person , some call the maosit rebel other call it terrorist, for me they r world top ten terroist coz U have only heard about them in paper , I have seen and face them.
they r terroist and one day i don't know when but for sure they will be standing the court of justice just matter of time, like Nepal being a republic state.

here is my main objection for calling maoist terrorist.

1. about 13000 people died so far more than 3/4 of which by RNA.

2. if baburam and prachanda and few others were only in question i wouldn't protest, we are talking about thousands and thousands of nepali brothers and sisters who voluntarily or involuntarily are now maoist. by labeling them "terrorist" the state got free pass to kill any one they wanted.

3. in a way we all are responsible for this because we neglected the rural nepal for so damn long that it is out of our reach and influence. if lives of these people were as that of kathmandu i bet maoist could have never gotton a grip on these underpriveleged folks.

4. when you think of maoist you see baburams and prachandas, i see neglected people who are living in their country as foreigners. lets not get carried away and lets bring them to mainstream. labeling them terrorist will not help anything.

I know labelling them terroist won't solve the problem , they need to bring it back to main fold but the people who had the brain behind those 13,000 massacre has to bring it down to justice, I don't care what they r been called as rebel , maoist but justice has to be done .
Birbhadra ji, I have seen them and I have feel for them, i have cried with them , with those people in those areas. Can U imagine u being a doc and when u know u could have saved this patient of urs with just 100 rupees medicine and tthey can't afford that and they do die but still violence is n't the answer.
Every terroist u ask in the world they will give u some good explanation for the cause but that didn't let u take gun in ur hand start killing, maosit would have been rebel if they would have fought with army and police but they didn't, I personnaly know and I have seen them doing massacre of common people.
if baburam feels for the death of his mother so does all those 13,000 or even more will feel so is the case with King G. King G was the ruler and he was the brain behind killing the nepalese defintely People will answer to that call and people have already answered him back.he will have to face the consequences and so will baburam and Prachnada too have to face. Plese don't give me that bull shit more than 3/4 were killed by RNA. NoOne is dumb enough , to take that home. every tom dick and harry knows what maosit did.
U ask the maosit just to lay the arms and then see what will be their condition, people will make their life hell. I have always stood by non voilence and i do strictly follow Gandhi's principle but I am ready to break it in the case of maoist, coz they have been the most inhumane people , only thing is its not reported,.it was reported in case of NAZIS because JEWS know how to project it. But maoist have not been the less.
