You can use moneygram or i can bring it for you when i go to nepal in summer. Send your parents my photo and give me your address in nepal and tell your parents to keep the cash ready. I do not need your address over here.

I think, if the money is being sent for a student, then with NOC, a bank can do a wire transfer. Sorry, but thats all i know. Also, i heard about something called HUNDI or something like that. A black way and i heard it can be done in Thamel or so.

you wan't $$$ for Nepali Ruppee? Nepali Ruppee are traded twice exchange rate in black market. So you better be ready to fork $1 = ~140 Nrs. Maoist have managed to turn Nepali currency into real Paper monopoly currency. And now they are demanding 20,000,000 each for their dummy fighters of about 19,000; you do that math = 38,000,000,000 (38 billion Rs or ~$525 million). And remember these dummy fighter have been getting fed/paid for last 4 years for doing nothing - those currencies too are generated out of thin air (read inflation or busy printer printing monopoly money). If you do not believe market rate for nepali rs/usd; ask any Nepali friends working in Arab, or nepali people in Thailand, Singapore, HK. Or even try to goto Thamel and buy $$$ there and see. fyi - Western Union & MoneyGram is not going take your Nepali Rs and deliver hard currency outside Nepal; its against Nepal Law (or any developing nations).

Mr. Dhirajojha,.
Please look into the mirror first yourself and make sure that you're maintaining the decorum, respect and standard of language you write here in this public forum. People can choose or not choose to do business or help for some return. You don't need to be filthy and rustic while you comment on others' thread. You can constructively and respectfully leave your comments.

Look at this, the poor guy's asking for a little help and all everybody does is jump on him like a pack of ravenous wolves!Just remember folks, what goes around comes around.Someday you are going to be the one asking for help and you will be treated the same way.

As far as I know there is no way to transfer your OWN money from Nepal to US. For a student, you need letter from Education ministry together with your I-20, and you need to submit that letter to Nepal Rastriya Bank. And this is also a very limited amount of money. You can not transfer your OWN money from bank in Nepal to US. This is the F*$&$ed up lesson that I learned few months ago. Thats how desperate our country is. Goodluck.
