You don't have to worry about that. You can always appear at the court on specified date on your citation. If this is your first traffic violation, the judge might give you a break. Or you can pay the fine, or you can always take a defensive driving class ( 6 hrs class, can complete in a single day if u want or take online/video class) and clear it out right then frm ur driving record.

Ya, i got a ticket myself for driving 90 on a 65. First incident so I took an online class because the court would be held in a city 3 hrs away from where i live so i decided to pay and clear it. I have not driven over the limit now so something good did come out of it.

thanx cartman and guitardaku for the information. The problem was while i was driving from dallas to houston and the incident happened in bufallo county which is bit far from dallas. But the problem is i have to leave tx to florida becuase of job probably early next week. So, I won't be able to attend the court. Can i take the defensive driving class from florida itself and somehow finish this things from florida itself?

Send your ticket to a lawyer. Everything will be taken care of for about $40 dollars. You might still have to pay the fine (and take a DD class depending on your age).

I don't think you need to go to court or a lawyer to avoid the points on your license. In California where i am, they allow first time moving violators to take online classes and avoid the points. I did pay the fine. I am not sure but Texas should have some such provision but you might have to take the class in person instead of line and pay the fine plus the fee for the class (which is not that much). google it: "texas driving ticket first time offense" (or some variation)

why you soo confused broo ...instead of asking somebody else , why don't you call county office ( where you got ticket ) and ask them what you want to know ....thats it brooo ....they will tell you what to do .......and don't worry it will not affect in your immigration ...
take defensive class so that it wont be in your driving history ....but it may or may not affect your insurance premium ....ask your insurance company ...

Daamikattu; Dose it hurt to get some info??? This is a kind of forum, it is his decision how he process his thought as well his speeding ticket. Why we ( including me) have to go negative and attack in first site. Are we expressing our frustration here in Sajha? First , you want to pay the fine and get a defensive driving class or appeal ? If appeal what might going to be happend? He/She does not know , it is first speeding ticket. Let him/her gather more info to make a decision. It does not hurt to be informative. Does it ? Is it too much ?????????

Please wait for the mail from the County's Traffic Court. As a first time violator, you will be given an option either to pay the fine (which can be done online or over the phone) OR contest the traffic ticket. If you opt to pay the fine, it means that you are admitting to the charges of traffic violation. The violation will be recorded on your DMV record. If you think that the officer got you wrong and want to contest, do not pay the fine and appear at the court pleading Not-Guilty. The judge will decide. However, first time violators are given an option to attend driving school along with the fine payment. If you take the traffic school, the violation will be erased from your driving record. Traffic school option is given once every 18 months. Speeding under 100 is considered a minor traffic violation, which accumulates 1 point on your DMV record. Minor traffic violation does not require you to appear in the court. Speeding over 100 is considered an INFRACTION, which accumulates 2 points on your record. Infraction requires the violator to appear at the court in the county of violation. Fines are higher for Infraction and the driving license could be suspended. Once you accumulate 4 points on DMV record, you are ineligible to drive. The license is void. You can get a new incense after stringent requirements. The more the points, the higher your insurance. Its better to drive in the speed limit and NOT get carried away. A 65mph is 100 Kilometers per hour for us, which is already exciting enough :-) All traffic tickets may not be correct. Most of the time, because of the officer's prejudice, technical faults etc, a wrong citation or a ticket may have been issued. Learn more on how to tackle Traffic Ticket and defend yourself at http://www.ticketassassin.com/Driving 1 mph over the speed limit is a violation in general terms. Traffic tickets are usually issued when the violators go beyond 10% of the posted speed limit. See: http://ci.selma.tx.us/pdf/cd52609.pdf for types of traffic violations Selma Municipal Court, TX heard in May 2009. Note that majority of tickets were issued for 10% above the posted speed limit. Although DMV regulations allow going over the posted speed limit only under "SAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS"; it is unclear as to what constitutes the definition of Safe Driving Condition. Drive Safe.

all except santosh giri's thread are BS... hariyo bro..u will not have to worry about anything regarding ur immigration problem..and yes about insurance it depends on u or the court..but since this is ur first time u will be allowed to take Defensive driving class which is 6 hours...but first u have appear in the court or lets say texas have small windows clerk as a court on or b4 the court date..u dont have to pay the ticket however they will charge you the court fee and put your account on hold for the ticket until u finish ur DDC. u will then have 2-3 months to take the class...so just complete ur ddc and submit it to the court...they will take ur record off and u dont have to worry about ur premium getting higher.. peace
