I am thinking of building cold storage in Nepal to preserve fruits and vegetables.
But looks like it costs a lot of money to build cold storage and I am also not sure about the technology/people in Nepal that can build cold storage.
Please share your thoughts about the cost and technology available in Nepal to build cold storage.

I was also thinking the same prospect. I searched google and could find only related to North America or India. I think looking towards detailed construction plan/engineering in India would be somewhat relavant;one report mentions that Construction cost of cold storage is taken at Rs.3,000/- per sq.mtr.  Wow! Thanks dude. The construction cost does not seem to be too much. Based on the one being built in Palpa, I thought it would cost crores but looks like it could be built in lower lakhs. It has been kind of a dream project for me.

This gentleman was supervising that was built in Bhairawaa side, long time ago and he may be helpful. I knew  him while he was attending Thapalthali campus. His name  is Nirmal Kumar Karki and seen on Facebook.

Has anyone thought about cold storage based upon vapor absorption system(still using NH3) rather than vapor compression system using reciprocating compressors? The vapor absorptions system requires heating which could be done using solar concentrators, while recip compressors need electricity to run.
I'd be interersted in it if there is feasible plan.
